Fans fear for Nate Diaz as they call out UFC legend's 'beer belly' at Jake Paul weigh-in

Fans fear Nate Diaz could struggle against Jake Paul as they questioned the UFC legend's fitness at the weigh-in.

Ex-MMA star Diaz makes his boxing debut on Saturday night, taking on YouTuber-turned-fighter Paul in Texas.

Both men tipped the scales at a feisty weigh-in on Friday night and Paul looked in fantastic shape.

Diaz, meanwhile, has not fought competitively since September 2022 when he beat Tony Ferguson in his last UFC fight.

And fans suggested the 38-year-old is not physically prepared for the challenge.

Responding to Paul's Instagram post of the weigh-in, one fan wrote: "Diaz looks like Homer Simpson."

Another said: "In shape 26-year-old vs an out of shape 38-year-old smh ['shaking my head']."

A third commented: "Nate out here with a beer belly."

After six straight wins against questionable opponents, Paul was recently beaten by Tommy Fury in his first bout against a professional boxer.

But the 26-year-old has shown some talent in the ring and many consider him the overwhelming favourite on Saturday night, despite Diaz's exceptional career in the octagon.

Ahead of the fight, Paul's former sparring partner, Anthony Taylor, who has now begun forging a boxing career of his own on KSI's Misfits Boxing, shared his thoughts on the bout.

"I hear Jake Paul is looking superhuman in this camp," Taylor told Neue Online Casinos.

"He's training with killers and there's no question he's going to send Nate Diaz into retirement.

"Respect to Diaz, he's had a great career, but he's not going to know what's hit him when Jake detonates on his chin.

"I've tasted Jake's power and his right hand hits like a baseball bat.

"Given Diaz's age and how much smaller he is compared to Jake, I don't see how Diaz can stand up to that kind of firepower.

"He's got as much chance of winning as Francis Ngannou has of beating Tyson Fury.

"He's got two hopes: Bob and none. If he makes it out of the third round I'd be surprised. Don't blink."

Jake Paul vs Nate Diaz is live and exclusive on talkSPORT on Sunday 6 August from 4am
