Jennifer Hubbard was born on July 19, 1966 to Carla Alexandra Baerman Hough and Grant Horton Hough in Montreal, Quebec. Her sister Debra Lynn was born three years later. The family lived in Dorval, Quebec where Jennifer had a happy childhood. In the late 1980s, the family moved to Toronto and Jennifer attended the University of Toronto.
