Here are some shots from Rihanna’s February/March issue of Complex Mag. I don’t think I ever saw these when they were new – they’re nice. They look like Terry Richardson (or “School of Terry Richardson”) – too-bright lighting and everything seems kind of p0rny. But Rihanna looks good in them. Well, it seems Complex thought she looked good too, because Rihanna just topped their “100 Hottest Women Right Now” list. I am enjoying the “right now” caveat. It feels like Complex is admitting that the overwhelming majority of the women who made the list do not have “timeless hotness,” they are just the hot girls of the moment and three months from now you won’t remember their names.

Yeah… I just skimmed the slideshow (which you can see here) – I don’t recognize half the names. But I will say this – Complex really made an effort to objectify women of color as well as the standard ladies who always make these lists (blonde white women) – this is a super-diverse list! Let’s so who else made it… Ashley Greene (#97), Lena Dunham (#89 – I love that she outranked Ashley Greene!), Carey Mulligan (#75), Zoe Kravitz (#49), Angelina Jolie (#39), Eva Mendes (#30), Solange (#20!!), Kim Kardashian (#10), Nicki Minaj (#7), Kerry Washington (#5), Beyonce (#4), Jennifer Lawrence (#3), and Alison Brie (#2). I agree with the inclusion of most of these women, but the rankings are totally weird.

As for Rihanna’s triumph… sure. These lists are so meaningless, but I don’t have strong feelings about Rihanna being designated “the hottest woman right now”. I’m just glad it’s not Mila Kunis, because that would just inflate Ashton Kutcher’s ego too much.

Rihanna was also Instagram-ing photos in Barcelona yesterday – she’s back to blonde now!
